Kyichu Lhakhang - Helmed as the spiritual heart of Bhutan and it’s people, it is also one of the most visited temples in the country and a popular pilgrimage destination for Tibetan Buddhists.
We will end the evening with a traditional Bhutanese welcome feast! Try our butter tea or indulge in our traditional cuisine to fully immerse into the Bhutanese experience.

We will start our day with a drive down to Thimphu city (approx 2 hours) and visiting the National Institute for Zorig Chusum (Arts & Crafts School).
After an easy morning, we will get our muscles pumping with a ride to Dodina as we go through small villages, farmlands and dense forests. At the end, we will marvel at two historic monasteries set back high amongst the mountains before taking a gradual downhill return route.
In the evening, we will explore the bustling Thimphu city for some shopping and exploring.
-
Today, we will work our muscles with a slightly challenging ride. Starting with a 5km warm up before we climb for the next 18km to Dochula Pass.
Dochula Pass - At an elevation of 3,100m, this stunning pass located on the way to Punakha from Thimphu is unmissable! Enjoy a panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain range as you breathe in the fresh crisp air in the morning. Here, we will grab some bites before heading off.
Next, we will descend down the pass through beautiful flora & fauna of oak, maple, blue pine, rhododendron & hemlock. Our ride has lots of beautiful sights to take it, making it a ride to remember!
-
Our ride today will be relaxing and enjoyable. We will make a gradual climb to Tashithang through dense forests of rhododendron trees. If you are lucky and in season, they may be in bloom and you will be treated with a magnificent view of a lifetime.
-
We will start our day with a leisure ride exploring the beautiful valley of Punakha before heading to some sightseeing.
Punakha Dzong - The majestic Dzong sits picturesquely between Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Built in 1637, the Dzong is one of the second largest & second oldest in Bhutan. It was damaged by four fires and an earthquake and was fully restored in recent years by the 4th King. It is now a winter home of Je Khenpo, head abbot of Bhutan, alongside the entourage of 1000 monks. We will also take a stroll down the longest suspension bridge nearby the Dzong.
Chhimi Lhakhang - Widely known as the fertility temple, this monastery was constructed in 1499 and is dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley, the "Divine Madman". Famous for his risqué behaviour, you will see essence of his influence as you hike up to the temple. Murals of phalluses adorn the walls and doors of the homes of locals. The route to Chimi Lhakhang is a beautiful one as it meanders through terraces of paddy fields.
-
After riding for the past couple of days, today we will leave on 4 wheels instead of two! We will take a drive down to Paro (4-6 hours) and visit the most famous highlight of Bhutan.
Tiger’s Nest - Perched precariously on the side of the mountain, Tiger's Nest is one of the must-visit spots in Bhutan.
According to folklore, the Guru Rinpoche flew to this location from Tibet on the back of a tigress and meditated in one of the caves before emerging in eight manifestations. The hike up to Tiger's Nest is spiritual, peaceful and filled with a sense of achievement.
