  • Welcome to Bhutan, the land of the Thunder Dragon! Our delightful guide will receive you just outside the arrival hall at the airport. Fun-fact, you are 2200m above sea levels! Take your time to acclimatised to the higher altitude as we drive down to our hotel in Paro to freshen up.

    After, we will visit Rinpung Dzong - a Buddhist monastery and fortress.

    If time permits, we will take the road less travelled and visit the ancient ruins of Drukgyel Dzong, a beautiful and famous archaeological site in Bhutan situated on a ridge in the upper Paro valley.

  • After a hearty breakfast, we will take a 1-1.5 hours drive down to Thimphu city in your private & comfortable vehicle. Today, we will dwelve deeper to uncover the mysteries of Bhutan.

    Simply Bhutan - This museum gives you a glimpse of the traditional Bhutanese lifestyle in addition to viewing artefacts from rural households.

    National Memorial Chorten - Watch the eldery circumbulate around the memorial stupa which was consecrated on July 28 1074, in memory of our Third King. Take in the intricate paintings and sculptures as you explore the surroundings.

    Buddha Point - The massive 51.5m tall bronze statue of Buddha Dordenma sits atop the hill overlooking Thimphu city. It is one of the largest sitting Buddha in the world. The Buddha Dordenma symbolises indestructibility, and is said to emnate peace and happiness to the world.

    Post Office - Take a quick stop to the post office to immortalise your picture into an actual stamp. Keep it as a memory of your trip or post yourself a snail mail to have something to reminisce about when it reaches you.

    In the morning, we will embark on a hike to calm our souls and open up our senses. We will hike to Chagri Monastery, a place where monks come to meditate after finishing their Buddhist education at Tango Monastery. After the hike, we will descend down to explore Thimphu city.

    Textile Museum - Admire our exquisite collection of historical garments and jewellery.

    Jungshi Handmade Paper Factory - Learn the whole process of how paper is made using the bark of the daphne bush, traditional Bhutanese style!

    Takin Reserve - On the way down, we can drop by Takin Reserve, home of Bhutan's national animal, the Takin. It's a strange looking creature and some say it looks like a bee-stung moose! You can be the judge, but now you are one of the few who have witnessed an endangered animal roaming freely in our reserve.

    Changangkha Lhakhang - A temple where all new-born babies of the area come to receive blessings as it’s where their birth deity dwells.

    ALTERNATIVELY: If you prefer hiking, you can choose from some trails in the area. Discuss with our friendly guide to pick the most suitable trail.

  • After a relaxing rest in the hotel, we will start the day bright and early with a scenic drive to Punakha (approx 2-3 hours)

    Dochula Pass - At an elevation of 3,100m, this stunning pass located on the way to Punakha from Thimphu is unmissable! Enjoy a panoramic view of the Himalayan mountain range as you breathe in the fresh crisp air in the morning.

    From here, slowly hike up to Lungchutselhakhang (approx. 4-5 hours). The hike leads through Rhododendron forest with orchids and a variety of other interesting plants. Lichens make the atmosphere seem fairytale-like. In clear weather, you have a spectacular view of the Himalayan mountain range. If the caretaker monk is around you might get chance to chat with him. It is always a nice idea to bring some incense and butter (for butter lamps) to gift to the caretaker. You could also hoist prayer flags here, as it is customary for travellers to do so at mountain passes.

    After the hike, we will continue driving towards Punakha.

    Take a scenic drive down from Punakha to Paro (approx 3-4 hours). A visit to Bhutan is incomplete without a road trip like this! In between, there will be pit stops to stretch your legs and take stunning photographs.

    In Paro, we will visit Rinpung Dzong before calling it a day.

  • After a delicious breakfast at the homestay or hotel of your choice, we will drive to base of Khamsun Yuelley for an invigorating hike.

    Khamsum Yuelly Namgyal Chorten - Fabled to be built as a protection for Bhutan & to bring peace across the world. It was built in 1991 and took almost 9 years to complete.

    Chhimi Lhakhang - Widely known as the fertility temple, this monastery was constructed in 1499 and is dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kunley, the "Divine Madman". Famous for his risqué behaviour, you will see essence of his influence as you hike up to the temple. Murals of phalluses adorn the walls and doors of the homes of locals. The route to Chimi Lhakhang is a beautiful one as it meanders through terraces of paddy fields.

    Punakha Dzong - The majestic Dzong sits picturesquely between Pho Chu and Mo Chu rivers. Built in 1637, the Dzong is one of the second largest & second oldest in Bhutan. It was damaged by four fires and an earthquake and was fully restored in recent years by the 4th King. It is now a winter home of Je Khenpo, head abbot of Bhutan, alongside the entourage of 1000 monks. We will also take a stroll down the longest suspension bridge nearby the Dzong.

    Take a good rest in the evening and enjoy a cosy time with your homestay family or in your hotel.

  • From the homestay, walk along the irrigation channel (30-40 min) to LaptshakhaLhakhang from where you will drive to Trongsa (if you are staying in homestay).

    Otherwise, we will start our day by driving down to Chumey, Bumthang. We will stop by at Chendibji Chorten and in Trongsa, visit Trongsa Dzong.

  • Today you can take it easy in the morning and enjoy a leisurely breakfast. After that you can drive to Tharpaling monastery and visit a lovely family-run incense factory on the way!

    After lunch, visit some Yathra weaving places e.g. Yid-Ga Handicraft Centre on the way to Jakar. In Jakar you could still visit Jakar Dzong or just conclude the day by strolling through Jakar town, maybe enjoying some tea or coffee at Café Perk.

    Your lovely homestay lodge is located amidst an apple orchard and you will enjoy your dinner in the cozy kitchen (if you are staying in homestay).

  • Explore the valley by foot, visiting some of the most famous temples such as Tamshing Lhakhang, Jampe and Kurje monasteries, Jakar Dzong.

  • Drive to Tang and stop at Mebartsho on the way. You can also visit Pemacholing nunnery. Then drive to OgyenCholing palace in the afternoon and visit the museum and temple there. On the way can visit Ta Rimochen temple.

    We will drive back to Jakar in the evening.

  • Today you will have to drive all the way to Phobjikha valley, coined to be the “Switzerland” of Bhutan! In between, you will have time to stretch your legs and take photographs for lasting memories. Enjoy the road trip with our friendly guide as he fill you in with stories about our culture and history.

  • Hike along the Ganju trail (see ruins of old Ganju village settlement, 1, 5km) and along Gangtey Nature trail (4 km). If you are lucky and in season, you may be able to see the majestic black neck cranes grazing along the valley.

    You will also visit the largest Nyingmapa Monastery in Bhutan, Gangtey Gonpa.

  • After breakfast drive to Paro, on the way you can make some stop for photos. In Paro you can relax and enjoy. You can also do souvenir shopping in the bustling town.

  • Start early with a good breakfast as we are on the highlight of our trip! We saved the best for the last for the most memorable experience.

    Tiger's Nest - As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm! We will begin our ascend up to Tiger's Nest early in the morning. Taking a 20-30 drive to the parking zone, we will embark our hike at the foot of the trail. Perched precariously on the side of the mountain, Tiger's Nest is one of the must-visit spots in Bhutan.

    According to folklore, the Guru Rinpoche flew to this location from Tibet on the back of a tigress and meditated in one of the caves before emerging in eight manifestations. The hike up to Tiger's Nest is spiritual, peaceful and filled with a sense of achievement.

    After our hike, we will make our way back to Paro town. Visit for some last minute shopping or people watch and see how locals live their lives.

    Hot Stone Bath - Experience the ancient tradition of Bhutan by indulging in our traditional Hot Stone Bath. It's the best way to wind down and relax those muscles after an ardous hike up to Tiger's Nest.

    Dinner at Homestay - Have an intimate dinner at a homestay with a local family.
